Introduction

The Hourly rates module is where you configure all the hourly rates for the resources that are performing work.

This information is crucial for the App to perform EVM calculations

Basic Concepts

There are two concepts to understand when setting up the hourly rates:

  1. Cost hourly rate

  2. Price hourly rate

The Cost hourly rate is the hourly rate cost per employee to the company.

The Price hourly rate is the hourly rate at which the company sells the services for that same resource.

If the resources are salaried resources, then you can easily use an online tool to calculate the hourly rate from a salary. A good example is this one Hourly rate calculator but there are several such calculators online.

How to Access

To access this module, navigate to the left-hand side panel and click on “Settings → Hourly rates”. If you do not see this menu item, it is because you do not have access to it and should request it from the person who installed the app or the person in charge of maintaining it.

Features of the Hourly Rates Module

In this module, you can perform the following actions:

  • Set a cost and price hourly rate for any issue that is unassigned

  • Set a default cost and price hourly rate for resources that do not have one but have been assigned to Jira issues or that have tracked time

  • Set a global cost and price rate for a resource. This rates would be applied to all of the issues and worklogs related to this resource

  • Set a Company level cost and price rate for a resource. This rates would be applied to all of the issues and worklogs related to this resource and the company specified

  • Create a new company.

  • Delete companies.

  • View company details.

  • List all the company's monetary metrics (if you have access).

  • Search for companies.
